The short version: this website collects almost nothing. There are no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. If you contact us, we use your details only to reply. If you donate, Stripe handles the payment and we never see your card details.
1. Who We Are
JGApps is an independent software company based in the United Kingdom, operating this website at jgapps.co.uk. For anything relating to this policy, you can reach us through the contact page or by email at support@jgapps.co.uk.
This policy covers the jgapps.co.uk website only. Each JGApps app has its own privacy policy — see RailTracker and PassportTracker.
2. Information You Provide
Contact form. When you use the contact form, you provide your name, email address, a topic, and your message. We use this information solely to read and reply to your message. It is not added to any mailing list, not shared with anyone, and not used for any other purpose.
Donation page. If you choose to make an optional donation, you select an amount and may include a short message. Your payment is processed entirely by Stripe — your card details never touch JGApps servers. We receive confirmation of the donation amount and your optional message, which we keep only as part of the payment record in Stripe.
3. Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure keeps standard web server logs, which may include your IP address, the pages you requested, the date and time, and your browser type. These logs exist for security and troubleshooting — for example, identifying attacks or diagnosing errors — and are not used to profile or track individual visitors. They are retained only as long as our hosting configuration keeps them, then deleted.
4. Google Search Console
We use Google Search Console to monitor how this website appears in Google search results — for example, which pages are indexed and which search terms lead people here. Search Console provides aggregated data only. It is not Google Analytics: it does not place tracking on this website, does not follow individual visitors, and is not used to build advertising profiles.
5. Cookies & Local Storage
JGApps does not intentionally use cookies for analytics, advertising, or tracking, and does not set any cookies of its own.
Two things worth knowing in the interest of full transparency:
- Theme preference: if you switch between dark and light mode, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage. This lives entirely on your device, is never transmitted to us, and can be cleared through your browser settings at any time.
- reCAPTCHA: the contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA to prevent spam. When you visit the contact page, Google may set cookies and collect device and interaction data to distinguish humans from bots, under Google's privacy policy. reCAPTCHA is loaded only on the contact page — not across the rest of the site.
6. Third Parties
We work with a small number of service providers, each only for a specific purpose:
- Stripe — processes donations. Stripe receives your payment details directly and handles them under Stripe's privacy policy.
- Google reCAPTCHA — spam protection on the contact form only, as described above.
- Google Search Console — aggregated search performance data, as described above.
- Our hosting provider — stores and serves this website, including the server logs described in section 3, on our behalf.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone for marketing purposes — ever.
7. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR and other applicable privacy laws, you have rights over your personal data — including the right to access it, correct it, or ask us to delete it. Given how little this website collects, exercising them is straightforward: contact us and we'll help. If you've messaged us and want that correspondence deleted, just ask. For payment records, note that Stripe and JGApps may need to retain transaction data to meet legal and accounting obligations.
If you believe we've handled your data improperly, you also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
8. Policy Updates
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. Significant changes will be noted rather than buried.
